With the opening of T2, the Florentine tram network reaches 16.8 kilometers with 37 stops and 36 trams circulating at peak times

On 11 February 2019, the new T2 Vespucci line enters service. The first rides for citizens, which will travel free for two weeks (T2 only), will start at 2.30pm with the trams ready along numerous stops on the line.

At 12.00 the inaugural ceremony is scheduled at the Vespucci airport in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and the Minister of Infrastructure Danilo Toninelli, the Mayor Nardella, President Rossi and the European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu.

The start of the service The T2 Vespucci will begin its ordinary service on Monday 11 February around 2.30 pm. The departure will be simultaneous with the cars already positioned in many stops in order to make the line go up and running right away.

There will be 13 trams in service on T2 and with the new line Gest has hired and trained 80 new employees including drivers, regulators and maintenance workers. The ticket As for the T1 Leonardo line, there is also a free period of two weeks for the T2 Vespucci, ie from Monday 11 to Sunday 24 February.
